Remember my post "Keep Chemicals Out of the Tub and Out of Your Baby?" It inspired a dear reader to write in and ask me what she should clean her actual bathtub with so there would be no toxic residue once her little one hopped in. It's an obvious concern to worry about what personal products we are using to bathe our children, but I am thrilled that parents are taking it a step further by asking what we should use to clean the tub in which they are splashing about.
If you really want to go the au natural route, pour baking soda onto a damp sponge and then scour the tub. For stain removal, try spritzing vinegar onto the tub surface first, and then rubbing with baking soda. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
There are a few good nontoxic products on the market that are earth and kid friendly.
My top pick is Babyganics Tub & Tile Cleaner.
Other safe options include:
Seventh Generation Tub & Tile Cleaner and Method Tub 'n Tile Bathroom Cleaner.
Once you get your tub sparkling, have fun getting your little ones squeaky clean!
