The Years Are Short

This is a poignant video about parenthood and how children teach us to appreciate every moment for what it is: a gift.

This short video really resonates with me because I walk Miss O to school every day -- holding her hand as we climb a steep hill. We laugh at stories we make up along the way, we marvel with shivers at spider webs, and we simply enjoy each others company. I view this time together as the ultimate gift during which I can talk with my daughter, find out what she's thinking and how she's feeling, and really connect in nature. Oftentimes we're in such a rush to reach our destinations, but it really is about the journey.
