What a Turnoff!

March 29th at 8pm, take a giant leap toward changing our world. Turn off all your lights for one hour. It's as simple as that. In 2007, "Earth Hour" took place in Sydney, Australia, wherein 2.2 million people and 2100 businesses went dark in an effort to save our planet from global warming. This year, Earth Hour is spanning the globe. Join this movement by signing up for Earth Hour here.

From 8pm-9pm, or longer, live by candlelight and show your children what it was like in "olden" times. Teach them that their actions, even the smallest ones such as turning off a light, matter. What a fun way to be part of our global community, pitching in to make a statement on saving our world. It doesn't matter where you live, the hour to go dark is 8pm everywhere in the world.

If your child happens to be afraid of the dark, check out my post on getting rid of pesky household monsters together before flipping the switch.
