THE NATIONAL PARKS: Our American Landscape, featuring photography by Ian Shive

There are few things more satisfying than knowing a human being who has used their talents to not only make their own dreams come true, but to enrich the lives of others. Privileged and honored to call him my friend, photographer Ian Shive's first book has just been released: The National Parks - Our American Landscape... and viewing nature through Shive's lens is the ultimate gift. This gorgeous book is filled with more than 200 stunning photographs which capture the essence of America's national parks and deliver the spirit of the earth to a reader's eyes while stirring their soul.

The book features classic mainstays of America's environmental treasures including Yosemite and Yellowstone, while also highlighting lesser known gems such as Point Reyes National Seashore and Steamtown National Historic Site. The most compelling aspect of the book is that the photography is fresh, bold and as adventurous as the subjects being shot. Shive manages to depict the environment in unprecedented ways that cause viewers and admirers to lose their breath while taking a pictorial journey into the wild.

After visiting Zion this summer, we decided to spend our next several summers visiting National Parks. I'll definitely check this book out. Sounds like its right up our alley.
