LADYBUG Magazine: The Perfect "Green" Birthday Gift

I've spoken before about how to "green" up your child's birthday celebrations, and here's another gift giving tip: give a magazine subscription. No wrapping paper to waste, no lead paint, chemically laden plastic or "made in China" to worry about! And the best part of all: magazines are recyclable and they are the gift that keeps on giving throughout the year! You may also pass them along to your child's friends once she's finished with each issue, or you can donate them to your child's classroom or your pediatrician's waiting room.

Ladybug is a darling publication written for children ages 3 to 6. One of Olivia's favorite activities of the day is going to the mailbox to get the mail. I am guessing most of our children think mail is fun, and imagine their delight when they receive a cool new magazine, just for them, on a regular basis!

I really like that the philosophy behind Ladybug Magazine is to encourage young minds to develop a love of reading. Each issue features stories, poems, activities, games and songs. The activity section is removable, so children can cut out crafts and work on their motor skills. I also love that there is absolutely NO advertising in the magazine.
